Our Mission

To train and mentor students and teachers of Pilates, in the original teachings of Romana Kryzanowska as taught to her by Joseph Pilates and given to Janice Dulak as one of Romana’s original chosen "Teacher of Teachers." At Dark Horse Pilates, we hold mastery of the body as our purpose and to that end we endeavor to empower both students and teachers to learn the Pilates Method in an authentic environment with an emphasis on clarity, perfect practice and an intuitive approach to the mastery of the body.

Our Story

Dark Horse Pilates, created by Janice Dulak, is a tribute to the work of Joseph Pilates as taught to her by Romana Kryzanowska. Janice was appointed by Romana in 1999 to be a “Teacher of Teachers” with the words of Romana “When I see you workout, I am transported back into the studio with Joe.” Taking these words to heart, Janice has developed a program that trains the body to live up to those words.
